Better prepared

So today I was working in the childcare at a womans bible study and what a disaster that was! I didn't prepare as much as I should've so it didn't go so great. I figured out what craft I wanted them to do and it wasn't to complicated. I was going to teach about Moses and how when he was leading the isrealites across the dessert and God showed them the way by a cloud pillar in the day and a pillar of fire by night. First mistake: I didn't have time to read it from the bible. Second mistake: I neglected to even tell the kids about the pillar of clouds and pillar of fire. So the craft was making miniature pillars out of craft sticks, craft foam, cotton balls, tissue paper and glue. Well I briefly told the kids about the pillars and than we did the craft. My embarrassment came later :P All the parents showed up and one of the kids gave their craft to her mom and her mom says "so whats this suppose to be?" well her daughter says "I don't know" so I had to explain what it was to her mom. I tell you the failure was sure sitting on my shoulders this morning. Well next week we are going to talk about Balaams donkey and I'm going to read the it from the bible and prepare the craft the day before at least.

  1. Don't you hate it when you think you're prepared (or hope you are), then you're not? ^.^

Looks like a nice blog you have here. :)
